Friday, May 3
Brandywine Ballet‘s springtime production of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz takes stage as early as 10 a.m. this morning. Performances continue through the weekend, on Saturday at 4 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. All the details on the performances and how to secure tickets here.
It’s First Friday in downtown Phoenixville! Enjoy music, theatrical performances, local artists and more at Phoenixville’s arts venues, shops, boutiques and restaurants. Experience all the fun downtown from 6 to 10 p.m.
Neshaminy Creek Brewing Company is taking over the taps at Bistro on Bridge. Starting at 7 p.m., enjoy the brewery’s best—pilsner, stout, ale and more—as well as a specialty beer just for the Bistro. Read more here.
Head to West Chester for the first Vintage Garage Sale of the season. You’ll find over 20 vintage vendors, food trucks, live jazz and wine tastings at the Chestnut Street Parking Garage, 14 E. Chestnut Street, from 4 to 9 p.m.
Saturday, May 4
Celebrate women with an extravagant culinary show put on by Les Dames d’Escoffier International (LDEI). The all-day CUISINE, CULTURE & COMMUNITY: A Global Celebration Of Women & Food event will take place from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at The Restaurant School at Walnut Hill College. Trot on over to Paramour in Wayne for its second annual Kentucky Derby Party! Wear your derby day finest and enter the “Best Dressed for the Derby Contest.” First, second and third place prizes will be awarded for the best men’s and women’s Derby outfits. Get all the details here.
Buy fresh, buy local at the Malvern Farmers Market. Twenty-five vendors, including Wyebrook Farm, Birchrun Hills Farm, Dia Doce, Vera’s Pasta, Jenny & Frank’s Artisan Gelato, MomPops and more, will be set up in Burke Park, between Warren and Channing avenues, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The Cinco de Mayo Pub Crawl kicks off in Phoenixville at noon. Get your fill of tequila, Corona and tacos and look for the Wired 96.5 crew while you make your way around town. Bock beers, German food and goats are all part of the fun of the Sly Fox Bock Fest and Goat Race at Sly Fox Brewhouse. The event draws a crowd of thousands for the annual rain-or-shine fest. Beer & food from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.; goat races start at 2 p.m. More here!
Eat your fill at the 3rd Annual Philadelphia Burger Brawl, going down from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Fleisher Art Memorial. More than 20 of Philly’s best burger-makers will battle it out for a great cause, placing computer labs in public elementary schools. Details here.
