West Chester Story Slam Set For May 14th: First Impressions

First Impressions is the theme of the next West Chester Story Slam, which takes place at Side Bar & Restaurant on Tuesday, May 14.

Take the stage to tell your story, or simply hang out and listen. Either way, the Story Slam is a unique event to enjoy with friends. Check it out to see why West Chester Story Slam was voted “Best Entertaining Night Out” last year by Main Line Today. Reserved seats can be ordered here.

What does the theme “First Impressions” mean?

Often our first impressions are misleading. Perhaps you were less than impressed the first time you met the person who eventually became your spouse, or conversely, maybe you dated the person you thought was “the one” only to find out they were definitely not. Sometimes we realize we made a bad first impression ourselves and we have to takes steps to correct the situation. What was your first impression of your high school or your college? How about your first impression of that college roommate who wore too much cologne and listened to hip hop all night? Maybe you had to help a friend as they struggled with their first impressions of a new job, a new city or a new country?

Remember, you do not have to tell a story to enjoy the night, though here’s a word of warning: Folks who attend just to watch often end up jumping on stage and telling a story themselves.

The First Impressions Story Slam is being held on Tuesday, May 14, at 8 p.m. Seating is limited; reserve your tickets here.

Here’s a story by Michael Guttman from last month’s story slam, which was themed “Ink.”
