West Chester University Students to Host “Mile of Silence” for Boston on April 23

Join West Chester students, faculty, staff members and residents from surrounding local communities in a “Mile of Silence” walk to remember those affected by the tragedy in Boston.

Meet in front of Wayne Hall on Rosedale Avenue at 7:30 on Tuesday evening, April 23. From this starting point, the mile-long walk will loop around North campus and end in front of the Sykes Student Union building. A candlelight vigil will be held after the walk, at which all are welcome to share thoughts regarding the incident.

A limited number of “Mile of Silence” shirts will be available the night of the walk. Shirts are blue and yellow—Boston Marathon colors—with the finish line graphic and the event name. Shirts will be $10 each. Proceeds after expenses (the cost of the shirts) will go to The One Fund in Boston. Additional donations will also be accepted at the event.

Participants are encouraged to wear their favorite run/walk t-shirt or any Boston apparel you may have. For more information, visit the event page on Facebook.
