Wyebrook Farm to Host Pig Butchering Class, May 12

UPDATE

The May 12 Pig Butchering Class is SOLD OUT but you can stay tuned for upcoming announcements on goat and lamb butchering classes!

Bring your questions, your curiosity and your love of all things porcine to Wyebrook Farm on Sunday, May 12, at 3 p.m. for a nose-to-tail butchering demo! Learn where bacon comes from, what baby back ribs are and why a butt is cut from the shoulder (why is that, anyway?). Participants will also get an introduction to the farm and an explanation of why Wyebrook spends so much effort raising pigs outdoors.

Watch and learn what is involved in breaking down a cross-section of one of Wyebrook’s woodland pastured pigs. Find out more about cuts you don’t normally see on supermarket shelves, learn a recipe or two, acquire a new appreciation for the art of butchery and leave with some fresh pork cuts.

The class is $80/person and limited to 15 people. Reservations are being taken on a first-come, first-served basis at [email protected].

Stay tuned for upcoming announcements on goat and lamb butchering classes!

Wyebrook Farm is located at 150 Wyebrook Road, in Honeybrook; phone: (610) 942-7481.
