Get a jump start on strawberry season on Thursday, May 22, with Chef Stephen Wilson of the Philadelphia Ritz Carlton! The award-winning pastry chef will be at Reading Terminal Market for an evening dedicated to strawberries.
Fair Food Philly has teamed up with Chef Wilson to bring you a fun session honoring the fabulous first fruit of summer. Chef Wilson will demo the process of preserving and fermenting, discuss how to prepare the seasonal fruit and prepare strawberry-centric preparations for attendees to sample.
Participants will leave with recipes for four delicious dishes—sorbet, jam, shortcake and a refreshing strawberry soda—as well a quart of local strawberries. Locally brewed beer and cider provided by Philadelphia Brewing Company and Commonwealth Ciders will enhance the experience.
The class takes place from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at The Kitchen at the Market, located inside Reading Terminal Market at 51 N. 12th St., Philadelphia.
