The folks at Main Line Today sure know how to throw a party. Coming on the heels of their recent Best of the Main Line & Western Suburbs issue, they’re planning to host a bash to highlight and celebrate all who were recently named the “Best Of” in their respective categories. This is a night that brings together people, businesses, restaurants and services all in the name of charity. Need a little more arm twisting to purchase your ticket to the party of the year? Here’s a mini preview of who took home the “Best Of” title for 2014 and that you may expect to sample at the upcoming affair.

Rino’s Italian Restaurant & Pizzeria was named Best Beer Deal in this year’s issue. Score! Sticking with the beer domain is none other than the team behind Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant. They received the Best Brewpub Chain nod—and rightfully so. As they continue to grow, they also continue to maintain excellent consistency in their food, service and quality beer. Sovanna Bistro stole the show by nabbing the Best Cocktail Bar nomination, while the skillful baristas over at Burlap and Bean took home the Best Coffeehouse title. Special shout-out to Victory Brewing Company and Penns Woods Winery for winning Best Local Brewery and Winery, respectively!

Without giving all of the highlights away before the party even kicks off, we’ve narrowed down a few of the vendors we’re most excited to sample. Warning, reading this on an empty stomach may cause hunger pangs. The folks behind Quincy’s Original Lobster Rolls were handed the Best Taste of Summer Without the Drive vote. Who needs to drive to Maine when authentic lobster rolls are being served daily on the Main Line? If Thai cuisine is more your speed, nobody does it better than Chabba Thai Bistro in Manayunk. Chef Moon will have you coming back for more. Best Wings were rightfully awarded to the folks over at Appetites on Main in Exton. With seven different flavors and half price wings on Mondays, this was a no-brainer. There was also a category for Best Hot Dog. They deserve some love too, you know! Taking home this nod was the team at Black Powder Tavern. Have you tried their Bahn-Mi style dog?

Tickets will go fast for this year’s Best of the Main Line party, scheduled for July 24 from 6-9 p.m. at Drexelbrook Catering & Banquet Facilities. Tickets can be purchased in advance for $55. Use PA Eats discount at checkout for $25 off general admission ticket price (code: Dev14). Main Line Today also offers a group discount rate of $45 per person for parties of 15 or more. Tickets will be sold for $65 at the door but will be based on availability. Live entertainment will be provided throughout the evening from local band Jellyroll. Don’t miss the party of the summer!
