7 Delicious Excuses to Hit Azie for Sunday Brunch

Sundays are made for brunching—relaxing with friends and family, catching up on the latest gossip, savoring a smoked ham and cheese omelet and sipping a latte or Bloody Mary. For the past seven years, Azie in Media has elevated the traditional Sunday brunch to a delectable and indulgent meal. While diners can enjoy made-to-order eggs and bacon, Azie offers more sophisticated dishes as well. Try it; you’ll like it. Here are seven reasons why.

Simply, the Sushi

Azie Brunch Sushi

It’s not often you find fresh, hand-rolled sushi on a brunch buffet, and the sushi selection is what sets Azie—renowned for its Asian fusion cuisine—apart from the rest. The ample assortment includes spicy tuna, spicy salmon, shrimp, California rolls, vegetable rolls and more.

Fresh Fish

Azie Brunch Shrimp

If you’re not a sushi connoisseur, there are plenty of other fresh fish in the sea. You won’t want to miss the sweet and succulent jumbo shrimp cocktail, salmon ceviche, salmon teriyaki, crab cream cheese spring rolls and Hawaiian butterfish, a delicate white fish.

Black Pepper Basil NY Strip Steak

The USDA Prime beef, sautéed with broccoli, bell peppers and garlic, is as tender as it is juicy. Perfect for you carnivores.

Build-Your-Own Bloody Mary Bar

There are Bloody Mary bars, and then there are Bloody Mary bars. Azie’s is one of the most extensive and impressive I’ve encountered. Step one: choose your liquor from among vodka, sake, gin or tequila. Step two: become your own bartender. Whether you like your Bloody spicy, tangy or mild, you’ll have a blast shaking up your own. You can pick from several mixers, add a dash of Tabasco or worcestershire and garnish with celery, hot peppers, pickles, shrimp … the list goes on!

Sweet Endings

Azie Brunch Dessert

Warning: be sure to leave room for dessert. The sweets table is brimming with scrumptious cakes, tortes, mousse and other gourmet treats. Nearly all the desserts are house-made; the rest are selected from Reading-based Cafe Sweet Street.

Casually Classy Décor

Azie’s décor is casually chic and Center City classy. Upon entering through the doors, guests are greeted by contemporary Asian design accented by gorgeous blooming orchids. The restaurant boasts several spacious rooms, and you can also dine alfresco on the rooftop deck.

Brunch at Azie is $20 per person and runs Sundays, 11 a.m.–2:30 p.m.
