Warm Up With These 12 Holiday Cocktail Recipes

Whether you’re hosting a seasonal soiree or simply want to experiment with a few new seasonal cocktails, mix up the following 12 holiday cocktail recipes and you’ll get into the spirit of the season in no time:

Coconut Eggnog Martini

Ingredients

  • 1 part Jim Beam bourbon
  • 1 part Cruzan coconut rum
  • 2½ parts coconut eggnog (see following recipe)

Method

Build all ingredients in a shaker. Add ice. Shake well until chilled. Strain into glass.

Coconut Eggnog

Ingredients

  • 5 egg yolks, pasteurized
  • ¾ c. sugar
  • 1 c. heavy cream
  • 2 c. coconut milk
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • ½ tsp. nutmeg

Method

Whisk egg yolks with sugar until creamy and the sugar begins to dissolve. Add cream and coconut milk. Stir in vanilla, salt and nutmeg.

White Chocolate Candy Cane Martini

Ingredients

  • 1½ oz. Stoli Vanil vodka
  • ¾ oz. Godiva White Chocolate
  • ½ oz. peppermint schnapps
  • 2 oz. half and half
  • Crushed candy canes for garnish

Method

Combine all ingredients in a Boston shaker filled with ice and shake 10–15 times. Strain into a chilled martini glass.

Tiramisu Cocktail

Ingredients

  • 0.68 oz. cocoa liqueur
  • 0.34 oz. Kahlua
  • 0.34 oz. vanilla syrup
  • 1.01 oz. Grey Goose vodka
  • Hint of vanilla liqueur cream

Method

Combine in shaker, shake and then strain into a cocktail glass. Dust with cocoa powder. Add chocolate piece for decoration.

Belvedere Toddy

Ingredients

  • 1 oz. Belvedere vodka
  • 1½ oz. hot water
  • 1 oz. Lillet Blanc
  • ½ oz. lemon
  • ½ oz. honey
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • Fresh grated nutmeg
  • Orange wedge
  • Cloves

Method

Add hot water to heat-resistant glass mug, then honey to melt. Add remaining liquid ingredients. Garnish with a cinnamon stick and orange wedge, then top with freshly grated nutmeg. May add cloves to orange wedge, if so desired.

Truly Bitter

Ingredients

  • ½ oz. Campari
  • ½ oz. Cointreau
  • 5 oz. Truly Spiked & Sparkling Grapefruit & Pomelo
  • Juice from 1 lemon or orange wedge
  • Orange or grapefruit peel as garnish

Method

Combine Campari, Cointreau and juice from a fresh lemon wedge in a rocks glass over a single large ice cube. Top off with Truly Spiked & Sparkling Grapefruit & Pomelo. Add orange or grapefruit wedge or twist for garnish.

 Reyka’s Winter Solstice

Ingredients

  • 1½ parts Reyka vodka
  • ½ part lemon juice
  • ¼ part simple Syrup
  • 2 parts pear juice
  • Champagne

Method

Combine all ingredients into cocktail shaker, except champagne. Shake, serve in a coupe, top with champagne and garnish with a lemon twist.

Spiced Plum Punch

Ingredients

  • 1 bottle of elit
  • 1 bottle of sparkling wine
  • 1 c. of lemon juice
  • 1 c. spiced plum simple syrup (see recipe below), or to taste
  • 1 c. of mixed pitted and whole plums
  • 4 sprigs of rosemary
  • 2 lemons, sliced
  • 1 bag of ice

Method

Add lemon slices, ½ of the plums and the rosemary to the punch dispenser. Add elit, sparkling wine, lemon juice and spiced plum simple syrup to the punch dispenser. Add ice. Stir mixture, then add the rest of the plums. Garnish with lemon slices and pitted plums. Yields 15 servings (depending on glass).

Spiced Plum Simple Syrup

Ingredients/Method

Combine 1 cup of sugar, 1 cup of water, ½ cup pitted plums, 1 teaspoon of cloves, 1 teaspoon of allspice and 4 cinnamon sticks in a small pan. Bring to a boil until the sugar is dissolved. Strain mixture.

Cakewalk

Ingredients

  • 1½ oz. Campari
  • 1½ oz. vanilla syrup
  • 1 oz. strawberry puree
  • 1½ oz. lemon juice
  • 3 oz. cognac
  • 4 dashes orange bitters

Method

Build ingredients in a shaker with ice and shake generously. Funnel into cocktail bottle and enjoy with a side of Panettone. Makes 2 servings.

The Gingerbread Man

Ingredients

  • 2 oz. vanilla vodka
  • ½ oz. gingerbread syrup
  • 2 oz. half and half
  • Dash of nutmeg
  • Dash of cinnamon
  • Dash of ground ginger
  • Rim of crushed gingersnap cookies, brown sugar and molasses

Method

Combine gingerbread syrup, half and half, vanilla vodka with a dash of nutmeg, cinnamon and ground ginger. Rim the glass with crushed gingersnap cookies, brown sugar and molasses.

Magnum’s Espresso Martini

Ingredients

  • 1 part Magnum
  • 1 part espresso
  • 1 part vodka

Method

Vigorously shake, pour into a martini glass and garnish with a peppermint stick.

CÎROC’s Mango Fizz

Ingredients

  • 1½ oz. CÎROC Mango
  • 1 oz. fresh grapefruit juice
  • ½ oz. fresh lemon juice
  • ¾ oz. cinnamon syrup

Method

Combine ingredients. Top with champagne and garnish with grapefruit wedge.

Drambuie’s Starry Sonata

Ingredients

  • 1½ parts Drambuie
  • ½ part Hudson Baby Bourbon
  • ½ part Oloroso Sherry
  • 2 dashes Angostura bitters
  • Star anise for garnish

Method

Add all ingredients to a mixing glass with ice. Stir until well chilled and strain into chilled coupe. Garnish with star anise.
