Beer, Cheese, Veggies & Fruit: The CSA You Need This Summer

Local CSA options were just kicked up a notch for those who live on or near the Main Line with a new collaboration featuring fruits, vegetables, cheese and beer.

Local businesses Tired Hands Brewing Company, Three Springs Fruit Farm, Collective Creamery (featuring Birchrun Hills Farm and Valley Milkhouse) and Happy Cat Farm are coming together to offer this tasty CSA. Here’s how it works: Participants pay $720 to join the CSA; then they’ll receive a share each week for 10 weeks from June 26–August 28. Each share will containing the following items:

  • A four-pack of beer from Tired Hands Brewing Company.
  • Two local cheeses each week from Birchrun Hills Farm and Valley Milkhouse: one aged and one fresh.
  • A share of veggies from Happy Cat Farm, which will be a heavy-on-the-tomato share, culling from more than 100 heirloom varieties. Additional items received over the course of the CSA will include four types of radishes, peppers (shishito, padron), Italian heirloom onions, pasta sauce, tomato jam, heirloom corn flour, white cucumbers from India, squash, foraged items, Mexican sour gherkins, herbs, flowers, greens, potatoes and herbal teas.
  • A weekly supply of fruits from Three Springs Fruit Farm, with something new each week, including cherries, peaches, blueberries, pears, jams, apples and more.

The CSA pick-up will be every Monday at Tired Hands Fermentaria in Ardmore from 6–9 p.m.
