Don’t Miss the Exciting Annual Chester County Hospital Polo Cup (June 11)

Join Chester County Hospital for an exciting afternoon benefiting a great cause. The annual Chester County Hospital Polo Cup is planned for Sunday, June 11, at the beautiful Brandywine Polo Club in Toughkenamon. Tailgating commences at 1:30 p.m. with the polo match set for 3 p.m.

Founded in 2007 by the Turks Head Auxiliary Branch of the Women’s Auxiliary to Chester County Hospital, these annual festivities help to raise money for the hospital and Ob/Gyn clinic, ensuring vital services to mothers and babies.

A Worthy Cause

Last year alone, the Chester County Polo Cup raised more than $50,000 for the Prenatal Clinic and Chester County Hospital NICU. The hospital, in its 125th year of operation, aims to top that figure through tickets, donations and sponsorship of the event, adding to the over $300,000 and counting this annual event has generated over the past 11 years.

Since 1955, mothers unable to afford health care have turned to Chester County Hospital during the most vulnerable moments of pregnancy and postnatal recovery for themselves and their infants. The Chester County Hospital Prenatal Clinic offers gynecology and obstetric care and childbirth deliveries in a comfortable and personalized setting.

In addition, a portion of the Polo Cup funds are given toward the Women’s Auxiliary’s pledge of $1.25 million, which goes to the upgrades and renovations to the hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. This Level III NICU provides essential holistic care of newborns and their families during unexpected health crises.

Sponsorship of the Polo Cup is a terrific way to support the event and showcase your business’ commitment to the community. Sponsors receive access to the VIP Tent and promotion on the hospital website, event materials and in direct mailings. The cup draws more than 800 people, making it an exceptional networking and marketing opportunity as well as a way to contribute to a wonderful cause.

  • Family Tailgating tickets allow groups of 10 to reserve their own tent, and the Designated Driver package offers 6 tickets for the price of 5.

Winning Opportunities

Raffle tickets can be purchased online or during the Polo Cup at designated Raffle Kiosk Tents. This year’s prize is the Hazley Polo Cup Cottage, proudly built and donated by Hazley Builders, whose exceptional work has been associated with building and improving quality homes in Chester County for more than four decades.

The Polo Cup Cottage will be displayed just outside the Silent Auction tent, and the lucky winner will have the cottage delivered to their home by Hazley Builders.

Cup goers are also invited to visit the Silent Auction tent to bid on a wide variety of fantastic items, including original artwork, sports memorabilia and other upscale products and services.

Wine lovers need look no further than the Wine Pull Tent for a prize they’re sure to enjoy. Entry is just $20 for a chance to win a bottle worth that, if not much more.

Hats Off to Health

Wear your most fetching fascinators and striking sunhats for a chance to win a prize. The 2017 Hats Off to Health is set for halftime of the polo match.

Guests will be invited to line up on the field, where a stylish slew of judges will pick the Most Creative, Best Head to Toe and Most Fabulous Fascinator in the bunch. Two Junior Miss winners will also be selected from entrants 16 years old and under. All winners will walk away with enviable prizes.

Chester County Hospital gives a special nod of appreciation to this year’s Hats Off Judges Jaime Weisbrot of Phineas Gage, Tara Giorgio of The Brow Bar and Brittany Reed and Emily Pisano of Tesoro Design.

Mary Harris Award

This year, in a touching tribute to Mary Harris, former president of the Women’s Auxiliary and long time member, the 2017 Mary L. Harris Award will go to her husband, David L. Harris.

Mary spearheaded the work of the Auxiliary, which donates necessities like onesies and car seats to Prenatal Clinic patients, who also receive proceeds from the Polo Cup because of her influence. The award, named for Mary and established in 2015, recognizes an individual or organization whose philanthropic work improves the well-being of children in Chester County.

Since Mary’s passing, David has continued her legacy of generosity and diligent support of patients. He’s known for packing the clinic’s tiny storage closet so it’s always ready for families with newborns, and he makes weekly runs to Costco for infant necessities. The Women’s Auxiliary, staff and patients themselves are honored to see him receive this award.
