Lancaster Bartender Competing in Bols Around the World Competition; Get a Taste This Wednesday! (March 15)

Classic bartenders like Benjamin Hash of Lancaster’s Horse Inn look to the past for inspiration while also looking forward by experimenting with high-quality ingredients. Hash is a big fan of genever, a classic cocktail spirit that resembles a cross between gin and whiskey. In particular, Hash enjoys using Bols Genever in his uniquely crafted cocktails.

It’s no surprise to us that Hash, an award-winning mixologist and bartender who shows the world his forward-thinking prowess from the original bar of a former speakeasy, is in the final round of the Bols Around The World competition.

This worldwide bartender competition started in November with 1,200 participants in North America. Hash is now in the fourth heat with only three competitors left. The final heat will be in Amsterdam, with one bartender representing each continent. The winner of the Bols Around the World finals in Amsterdam will be the next Bols Genever Pioneer and will win a bartending trip around the world.

Check out Hash making his cocktail entry in the video below:

In order to make his way to the finals in Amsterdam, Hash is showcasing his skills and his Bols Genever cocktail at an exclusive event at Horse Inn on Wednesday, March 15, starting at 9 p.m. The Bols Around the World judging team will be on hand to determine if Ben Hash has what it takes to compete in the finals. Head to the event to learn about this historic spirit and experience a world class award-winning cocktail firsthand!
