June is prime beer garden time, with its breezy, early summer heat, late sunsets and firefly light shows. For some stellar outdoor beer drinking and hangouts, head to Levante at the Stables, the newly unveiled beer garden from Levante Brewing, a joint venture with West Chester’s Split Rail Tavern. This gorgeous, sprawling space is now open in Chester Springs at Park Road and Pottstown Pike (Route 100), on the grounds of an 1840s farmhouse.
As we previously reported, the architectural integrity of the beautiful farmhouse and stables has been preserved and enhanced with the installation of a 32-tap bar, serving Levante’s fine craft beers, as well as Pennsylvania wines and cocktails mixed with local spirits. The draft list rotates frequently, but there will always be a great selection of Levante’s seasonal brews to quench your thirst, like the Dice Dice Baby apricot saison, the hazy and silky smooth Cloudy and Cumbersome IPA and Monta Puentes, a sour IPA brewed in collaboration with La Cabra Brewing from Berwyn.
With over two acres of outdoor seating (and indoor seating as well, for those blazing summer days), Levante at the Stables has a jovial, it’s-a-party-and-all-your-friends-are-invited vibe: communal picnic tables, live music, bean bag toss games and cozy seating around fire pits all add to the fun.
Though there’s not a kitchen on site, a rotating roster of local food trucks pull up every day to serve up tasty, beer-friendly fare. Coming up in the next few weeks, guests at Levante at the Stables can enjoy Mexican cuisine from Dos Gringos (June 22 and 30), comfort food from Food on the Roll (June 23), classic pub fare from Saloon 151 (June 24 and 35), tacos from Vida and Urban’s wood-fired pizza (July 1). Outside food is also welcome: snacks can be brought from home, or guests can order delivery from local restaurants.
