PA Cider Fest’s return for year two celebrates all things cider in a day-long festival in Gettysburg, affectionately known as “Cider Town” PA.
Cider Fest is the only event of its kind in Pennsylvania, and the only festival that showcases Pennsylvania-made ciders, cheeses and other artisan products. On Saturday, June 24, rub elbows with cidermakers, cheesemakers, other artisans and vendors on the rolling hills of the Hauser Estate in Biglerville, the heart of Pennsylvania’s apple country.
Sample Pennsylvania-made cider from Armstrong Valley Winery, Arsenal Cider House, Bad Apple Ciderwerks, Big Hill Ciderworks, Banters Hard Cider, Broad Mountain Vineyard, Frecon’s Cidery, Dressler Estate, Good Intent Cider, Hardball Cider, Jack’s Hard Cider, Knockin’ Noggin Cidery & Winery, Kurant Cider, Lancaster County Cider, Original 13 Ciderworks, Ploughman Farm Cider, Reid’s Winery & Cider House, Stone & Key Cellars, The Vineyard at Hershey and Wyndridge Farm. Highlights of PA Cider Fest include:
Cheese Pairings
Meet Pennsylvania cheesemakers who will create unique pairings for this event. Look for Alpine Heritage Creamery, Birchrun Hills Farm, Goat Rodeo Farm & Dairy, Keswick Creamery, Misty Creek Goat Dairy, The Farm at Doe Run and the Pennsylvania Cheese Guild.
Cider Check
No need to tote cider purchases around the festival. Use the cider check to store your haul free and pick up your packages when you’re ready to leave.
“Cidercation” in Cider Town
Make it a weekend at one of these accommodations and enjoy free shuttles to and from the festival. Sip, savor and relax all weekend long!
Pay-As-You-Go Eats
Food trucks will be on-site at Hauser Estate during Cider Fest, including Gary’s Pig Roast, It’s All Greek to You, Mad Dash, Potato Coop and Uncle Moe’s Soul Food.
Cider Education
Demonstrations, tours, pairings, workshops and seminars are open to all attendees. Learn more about the beverage you love!
Cider Tap Takeovers
Area restaurants will feature cider all weekend long (June 23–25), including cider brunches (did someone say cider-mosas?), cider dinners and much more.
Support Local
Pennsylvania “agritourism” is front and center at this PA Preferred-sponsored event, which showcases Pennsylvania’s dairy, apple and craft beverage industries. Visitors and Pennsylvania residents alike can be tourists for a weekend and support local by stocking up on ciders, cheeses and other artisan products. Other sponsors include Pennsylvania Apples, Jack’s Hard Cider, Cider Culture, Pennsylvania Cheese Guild, Casey Martin Photography, Gettysburg Battlefield Bus Tours, Grand Illusion Hard Cider and The Outlet Shoppes at Gettysburg.
Proceeds from PA Cider Fest benefit the Pennsylvania Cider Guild, a trade organization formed in 2014 to bring together cider makers, cideries, cider enthusiasts and associated businesses to have a united voice in the state of Pennsylvania. The guild’s mission is to protect, promote, represent and educate its members and consumers.
Tickets are still available for this not-to-be-missed event.
The event will be held from noon–4 p.m. at Hauser Estate Winery, 410 Cashtown Road, Biglerville.
