Kennett Square Borough Council Approves Amendment Allowing New Brewpubs, Wine Bars & More!

kennettbrewCheers to this! Kennett Square Borough Council has given the nod to an amendment allowing new ventures with brewpubs, microbreweries and wine bars within the borough.

In a unanimous vote, council approved an ordinance amendment adding new “brewery” definitions to include brewpubs, microbreweries and wine bars. Borough Manager Brant Kucera told the Kennett Times that the ordinance is designed to attract appropriate businesses to the best location, depending on their size and the scope of their operations. “We’re not going to allow a large manufacturing brewery in the center of town,” he added. An earlier report by The Kennett Paper claimed that three different breweries were interested in setting up shop in Kennett Square; in order for that to happen, zoning language needed to be changed.

We’re sure this will lead to many exciting announcements down the road—stay tuned to Kennett Square Dish for all the details!
