Free-Pour Latte Art Competition Features Philter Coffee

Our friends at Philter Coffee are participating in a battle of epic proportions. Their baristas are competing to see who can free-pour the best latte art!

The Latte Art Throwdown unfolds on March 28 at Drip Cafe (144 Lantana Dr., Hockessin, DE) and is a friendly competition between area baristas. At it’s heart, the event is a way for the coffee community to come together and grow in the love of coffee and feed the competitive nature in all of us.

All baristas are welcome. Whether you’re a pro behind the coffee bar or you’re a secret home artist, come join the fun.

A $10 buy-in puts you in the competition. Baristas will go head to head, pouring designs with milk in to espresso. Judges will vote on each face-off, moving the victor to the next round. The last barista standing takes home the pot, along with some serious bragging rights.

No cover to hang out and cheer for your favorite competitor! They’ll have snacks, some free lattes (hey, someone’s gotta drink all this artwork!), beer courtesy of Fordham Brewing Co. and live music by Sherman Hesse.

Competitor sign-up and music start at 6:30pm and first pour at 7:30pm. The competition runs until one barista’s art reigns supreme!
