Coming Soon to Gettysburg, Pennsylvania: Mason-Dixon Distillery

Mason-Dixon Distillery 2

A new 9,000-square-foot distillery and restaurant is under construction in Gettysburg, with plans to open by the end of the first fiscal quarter of 2016.

The Mason-Dixon Distillery, owned by father-and-son team George and Yianni Barks, will include a locally focused savory menu to be washed down with on-site distilled rum, vodka and gin crafted using corn and rye grown at nearby Gettysburg National Military Park. Mason-Dixon will also offer guided tours of the distillery.

Yianni studied distilling at Siebel Institute of Technology in Chicago. After much research and an apprenticeship later, the plan to open a distillery started coming to life in 2014. George has a history of working in restaurants and held a career as a pastry chef.

For more information, visit the Mason-Dixon website and follow the distillery on Facebook.
