The Farmstead Butcher Hosting Grand Opening Party at Rettland Farm (Sept. 2)

Gettysburg’s only all-local butcher shop is preparing to open soon! Join The Farmstead Butcher, located on the premises at Rettland Farm, on Saturday, September 2, to celebrate its grand opening.

Featuring local, pastured and grass-fed meats, plus grains, produce and dairy, The Farmstead Butcher is excited to join the Gettysburg neighborhood. You’re invited to stop in between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. to experience butchery and cooking demonstrations, sample prepared foods, meet the shop’s vendors and more! The Farmstead Butcher is updating its Facebook page as more day-of activities are solidified.

When you shop at a butcher shop like The Farmstead Butcher that utilizes the whole animal head to tail, you’ll see cuts you don’t usually find at the supermarket. To help you learn how to prepare these unique cuts, meet chef Steve Luttrell at 1 p.m. for an informal discussion and demonstration on how to use some of these less common–but equally delicious–cuts!

Stop into The Farmstead Butcher the first Saturday in September to get to know your new favorite local meat shop and learn a thing or two about preparing your next meal!

You can find The Farmstead Butcher at 2778 Baltimore Pike in Gettysburg; phone: (717) 334-6328.
