Grain Craft Bar + Kitchen in Kennett Square has a new chef in charge: Chef Dave Wenerd!
Formerly the executive chef at The Gables at Chadds Ford and voted “Best Overall Chef of 2017” by Main Line Today, Chef Wenerd has taken over head culinary duties at Grain Kennett Square. Chef Wenerd will add unique twists to an already impressive craft menu at Grain, as well as develop the location’s event and catering offerings.
Chef Wenerd’s experience is impressive: He is a graduate of The Restaurant School at Walnut Hill College and was recognized as Fig Magazine‘s 2016 “Chef of the Year” and Main Line Today‘s “Best Overall Chef” in 2017. Prior to working at The Gables at Chadds Ford, Chef Wenerd worked his culinary magic at the Bistro on the Brandywine.
Going forward, it will be exciting to see what Chef Wenerd has in store for Grain, a restaurant which was just awarded “Best Brews and Grub” by County Line Magazine. He has taken the first steps in the culinary brainstorming process by having planned his rooftop garden next to Grain’s rooftop dining spot, known as 410@Grain, overlooking Kennett Square.
Congratulations to Chef Wenerd on this new position, and we look forward to seeing what culinary creations will come out of the Grain kitchen in the very near future!
