Kids and their families can have fun trying a variety of participatory art activities on Saturday, July 30, at Anson B. Nixon Park’s first-ever Family Art Fest.
The free event runs from 10 am to 3 pm, offering many interactive art activities for children. Take-away projects include mosaics, origami, abstract painting and rug weaving. To round out the fun, face painting, an environmental art hayride, and story-telling in the fairy story garden are planned.
The Family Art Fest also includes music and dance performances from the Junk Rock Recycle Band, Danza Tenochtli, the Longwood Performing Arts Center, the Carousel Performing Arts Center, and special surprise guests.
