The Chester County Historical Society will receive a refurbished van on today, May 15, at 2 p.m. Frank and Michelle Costello, owner-operators of the Maaco Center (3344 Market St., Aston), will present the keys to Dr. Robert Lukens, president of the Society.
“This donation helped our non-profit historical organization immensely,” Lukens commented. “As a history museum and historical library, we regularly transport historical items, ranging from agricultural equipment and rare furniture to fragile flags and documents,” Dr. Lukens said. “We’re grateful to Frank and Michelle for their generous support in donating the needed repair work. The van is thirteen years old, and had multiple dings, paint needs, and mechanical issues.”
“We didn’t hesitate when we were approached by the Historical Society,” Frank Costello said. “The van is important to their goals of collecting, preserving, exhibiting and interpreting the history of Chester County. Michelle and I feel it is important to give back to the community and the Historical Society that give us and our residents so much.”
