On Saturday June 14th over 250 Chester County philanthropists came together to celebrate giving at the Community Foundation?s aptly named ?Giving for Good? Gala. The gala paid tribute to the Community Foundation?s outgoing chair of the board Madeleine Wing Adler, PhD. of West Chester (retired President of West Chester University) and incoming board chair Louis N. Teti, Esq. of Downingtown (of the law firm MacElree Harvey).
The gala was co-chaired by John and Wiggie Featherman of West Chester (Mr. Featherman is CEO of 1st National Bank of Chester County). Carol Ware Gates, Ph.D. of Christiana and Oxford was the honorary gala chair. Robert and Diane Roskamp hosted the gala at their beautiful historic home, Thomas Mill Farm, in Newtown Square.
First National Bank of Chester County was the Gala?s Champion Corporate Sponsor.
The black-tie event included catering by Jimmy Duffy & Sons of Berwyn. Guests danced late into the night, under the enormous outdoor tent, to music by Jon Lewis Orchestra.
Proceeds from the ?Giving for Good? gala will benefit the Community Foundation?s initiatives to grow philanthropy amongst youths, families, and businesses in the region.
