With a population roughly the size of the state of Vermont, you may find you don’t always know what’s going on in Chester County and we don’t mean with the news — The Daily Local News has you covered there — we mean with nightlife, with entertainment, with food.
And that’s why we are introducing you to a new publication.
The publication, CC, will be your source of all that is fun; we know what’s going on (performances, art shows, who has the best tacos) and we want to share it with you. But we also want you to share with us — go to a show we didn’t? Take pictures. Find a new restaurant you think people should know about? Send us an e-mail.
CC, in conjunction with WCDish.com, is your guide to arts, entertainment and dining in Chester County — from Spring City to Oxford and everywhere in between. And best of all, you get to know what’s coming up and find out about what you missed for free.
Starting March 18 and every other Wednesday after, you’ll be able to find it all over the county and in all the places you’d expect. Go to the coffee shop on Saturday mornings? Pick up a copy and find out what you want to do Saturday night. Bad hump day during the week? Find out who has cheap drinks. Or grab one from any of the boxes you see while you’re out and about.
With Chester County boasting some of the best restaurants and entertainment spots in the region, Daily Local News Publisher Randy Notter said he’s excited about this newest publication.
“The introduction of ‘CC’ is the result of a lot of hard work by a lot of people,” said Notter. “It will be a vehicle for information but more important, it will be a vehicle for what’s fun and happening in Chester County.
“There will be information on food places, concerts, the arts,” he added, “so the mission is to be where the best of entertainment and food are. We are the experts on pointing people in Chester County to the best of the best.”
WCDish — founded by Mary Bigham — is a Web site devoted to everything food in Chester County. It is involved in such food-related events like the Chili Cookoff, the Restaurant Festival as well as nontraditional gigs like the Ice Cream Crawl.
Bigham said she too is looking forward to the launch of CC.
“With so many local food producers, restaurants and events, Chester County truly is a culinary destination and WC Dish is very excited to partner with The Daily Local to bring something like this to the community,” she said. “We’ll take the good stuff from the variety of authors at wcdish.com and showcase all the goodness Chester County has to offer.
“CC will be like a little bundle of deliciousness two times a month!” Bigham added. “In each issue you’ll find recipes, chef profiles, restaurant features, tips on wine, beer, coffee, local produce, foodie events, singles scene (we set’em up, they review each other AND the food) and other yummy stuff.
“It will be important to listen to readers as we go to make sure we are satisfying everyone’s appetite. So e-mail and let us know what you want to see more of.”
