West Chester artist Don Brown was commisioned to paint a scene of the Kathy McBratnie Park dedicated in memory of her legacy. Prints of the painting and will go on sale at the Visual Expansion Gallery located at 126 North High Street on Friday, June 5th during the Gallery Walk in West Chester.
The park located at 300 W. Nield Street was dedicated in honor of Kathleen McBratnie, former Director of West Chester’s Parks and Recreation Department. After her death in 2003, her family established a memorial fund at the Community Foundation as a way to honor her contributions to Chester County. Kathy’s family and friends have raised funds to award scholarships to benefit programs for West Chester youth. For any inquiries, contact Eileen Acello at [email protected].
