Aetna, along with the Food Network and The Culinary Institute of America, are sponsoring a “Healthy Food Fight” and they are swinging by Kennett Square Mushroom Festival on September 11, 9 am – 7pm and Sept., 12, 10 am – 5 pm, as part of their 10-city cooking contest challenge.
The Aetna Healthy Food Fight is a cooking contest that’s making its way across the country to promote healthy eating and healthy cooking. People from all over the Delaware Valley have submitted their healthy recipes for a chance to cook at the Mushroom Festival. The winner of the contest in Kennett Square will fly to Los Angeles, California for the finale with Bobby Flay.
The Aetna Healthy Food Fight national winner will receive a $10,000 package of KitchenAid appliances, courtesy of Lowe’s and Whirlpool Corporation. Aetna and Bobby Flay launched the contest with an employee event at Aetna’s corporate headquarters in Hartford, Conn. on Wednesday, Sept. 1.
Come out and watch as amateur chefs battle it out to be crowned Philadelphia’s healthiest chef. Watch as Sunny Anderson gives pointers on ways to improve recipes, and local VIPs, Sunny and The Culinary Institute of America chefs sample the dishes and choose the winner.
