Girls’ Night Out

This one’s for the girls! Bodies by Pilates encourages fellow locals to experience an evening of pure glamour at the new Bridge Street-based fitness studio’s red carpet grand-opening event, Friday, July 16, from 6 to 8 p.m. (260 Bridge Street, http://www.bodiesbypilatesllc.com 484- 302-0295.)
With the current scorcher of a summer in full swing, we may not be treating our bodies best as we juggle all the outdoor festivities of the season. But, with a little help from the trainers at Bodies by Pilates, we can learn how to stress down and shape up at the grand-opening event. During the open house, Bodies by Pilates will offer free “reformer” demonstrations, which is said to be the “most efficient form of exercise for the modern-day lifestyle and includes strength, flexibility, balance and cardiovascular aspects.”

Suggesting that “after 10 sessions you’ll feel the difference, after 20 sessions you’ll see the difference and after 30 sessions you’ll have a new body,” Phoenixville’s newest business stands proudly by its mission statement. Deborah Highley, not only the owner but also the studio’s main trainer, reveals that she has “found a way to take an exclusive exercise program and deliver it to the Average Jane or Joe at a very reasonable price.“

Keeping with the best of red carpet treatment, Kristen Brady-Perez, owner of Glow Skin Boutique Spa, also of Bridge Street, will be on hand offering advice and information to keep yourself gorgeous on your way for an evening out around downtown Phoenixville. Professional photographers will also be present at the red carpet to capture your snapshots while you are enjoy some well-deserved downtime.

The Pilates experts will introduce their comfortable and modern workout space that promotes a fresh, fitness lifestyle while you can enjoy healthy, local food, a champagne toast, and wine from Black Walnut Winery. Coming soon to Phoenixville, the winery will also be giving away a gift basket, including two bottles of wine and a wine tasting/pairing event with chocolate and cheese at their Chester County headquarters (www.blackwalnutwinery.com).

Better yet, not only is Bodies by Pilates’ red carpet grand opening perfect for a girls’ night out full of local entertainment, but one lucky attendee will win a $1,500 total body makeover including 30 free sessions of Pilates plus a complete makeover package, which includes makeup, spray tanning, and skin-care courtesy of Glow Skin Spa Boutique. Full hair services for the makeover winner will be provided by the hip stylists at Salon Fiber (245 Taylor Alley, www.salon-fiber.com, 610-933-5633)

Don’t end the evening there. Bistro on Bridge is a perfect stop for al fresco dining, excellent food and a fine drink selection, and Fitzwater Station, perched along the Schuylkill Canal, will host a perfect outdoor setting for live music on their back deck. Chris Lebresco, an acoustic rock output, will perform at this Canal Street locale from 5 to 8 p.m. and, soon after, Liz Longley with Suzie Brown will present a folk performance at Steel City Coffeehouse, beginning at 8:30 p.m.
