On Monday, October 3rd at World Cafe Live, celebrate the release of The Hooters’ David Uosikkinen’s new single from In the Pocket: Essential Songs of Philadelphia, “Soon You’ll Be Gone.”
David Uosikkinen, a Wayne resident, worked aside various musicians of note for his In the Pocket album release, including fellow Hooters members Rob Hyman, John Lilley and Fran Smith, Jr., as well as Richard Bush of The A’s & The Peace Creeps, Tommy Conwell of Tommy Conwell & The Young Rumblers, Jay Davidson of Steve Winwood & The Funk Brothers, Greg Davis of Beru Revue, singer/songwriter Jeffrey Gaines, Charlie & Richie Ingui of Soul Survivors, Cliff Hillis of Ike, and TJ Tindall of Gamble & Huff.
But, it’s important to reveal that this specific single, “Soon You’ll Be Gone,” hits incredibly close to home to David and his fellow Hooters’ band members, as it was scribed as a tribute to The Hooters original band members, John Kuzma and Bobby Woods, who sadly passed away this year. Joining Uosikkinen to perform and record this track was Philadelphia’s beloved Soul Survivors, Charlie and Richie Ingui; The Hooters’ Rob Hyman and Fran Smith, Jr; Gamble and Huff’s legendary guitarist, TJ Tindall; And saxophone extraordinaire, Jay Davidson.
