The Chester County Hospital is proud to announce that the Annual May Festival will be held on the grounds of The Chester County Hospital May 20 – 22, 2011. Presented by 1N Bank, the Festival offers all the fabulous events of previous years with a few new additions. Friday night, while the ride preview is underway, B-I-N-G-O will be held in the main tent.
Saturday morning, the inaugural Health and Science Fair will display science projects completed by 7-10th graders from 9 am to Noon. Winners will be announced at noon. While in the Wellness Tent, attendees can pick up a scavenger hunt card and tour the Festival grounds in search of letters to unscramble the winning word that will enter them into a contest to win an Xbox & Xbox Kinect! Those who stick around Saturday evening will be witness to amateur bands will “rocking out” at the Battle of the Bands from 6 to 9 pm.
This community organized fundraiser includes, as always, traditional family favorites such as amusement rides, pony rides, face painting, children’s activities, games, great festival foods, and continuous entertainment, just to name of few of the attractions planned.
The hours of the 2011 May Festival are as follows: May 14 – 4 pm to 9 pm, May 15 – 10 am to 9 pm and May 16 – 11 am to 5 pm.
A Grand Prize Drawing for a 2011 Chevrolet Cruze, donated by Thomas Chevrolet, Inc., of West Chester, will take place May 22 at 7 pm. Other great prizes include a 42 inch LCD HDTV, Apple iPod nano and a Phillies box seat ticket package. Tickets for the drawing are available at various locations throughout the County, at the Hospital, all Parkway Dry Cleaning locations, and during the Festival.
The Chester County Challenge for Cancer Bike Tour, a non-competitive bike ride will take place on June 19, 2011 at a new location- Fern Hill Medical Campus, 915 Old Fern Hill Road, West Chester. The 13th annual Challenge will kick off at 8:00 a.m. The 5 or 10-mile family rides and 25, 50 and 63-mile tours lead participants through historic West Chester and its surrounding communities. The Challenge is presented by Infusioncare, J&L Building Materials, inc., and The Morrissey Family Foundation. To register for the Challenge, visit www.cccride.com.
