‘Tis the season to gulp copious amounts of full-bodied, delightfully-toasty ‘fest brews, pumpkin-flavored beers, and everything sippable that falls in-between. Of course, Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant of West Chester’s team of brewers, Paul Rutherford and Michael Rutkowski, promise to please area-wide beer lovers by serving up a fine lineup of beer-infused activities for the month of October.

Hop Attack!
Friday, October 7, beginning at noon
Event will celebrate 7 well-crafted, hop-forward beers, with the following hitting the taps: Rye IPA, Hopkowski
Kryptonite (3 pm release), JPA, Hell Track IPA, cask-conditioned Hopdiculous, Kamikaze IPA and Rising Sun. Plus, if you refer a friend to Mug Club during this event, you’ll score 100 points! And, if you’re not a fan of hoppy beers, the brewers have just tapped Ichabod, an Imperial Belgian Pumpkin Ale, for your anti-hop pleasure.
Brewmaster’s Oktoberfest Beer Dinner
Thurs., Oct. 13, 7 pm
Take part in a five-course feast that celebrates some of the best German flavors. Each course will be paired with one of Iron Hill’s specialty beers, and both the Executive Sous Chef Anthony Young and the house brewers will talk you through each round, explaining how the products were made and why they paired them together. Cost is $65 per person, including gratuity. Reservations for the dinner are required. Call 610-738-9600 to reserve your spot.

German Rouladen, a beef tenderloin stuffed with bacon, onions and pickles served with sage dumplings and natural pan jus

The Gathering of the Gourds
Saturday, Oct. 29, 2 pm until the taps run dry
This stellar annual event features a fine lineup of varying pumpkin beers that have been brewed amongst all the Iron Hill locations. This late October tasting will include Iron Hill favorites like Ichabod Imperial Belgian Ale, Pumpkin Ale, Punktoberfest, Bruce Camp-ale, and Pumpkin Berliner Weisse.
Better yet, Iron Hill also welcomes pumpkin concoctions from two other breweries: Elysian Brewing Co. and Cambridge Brewing Co. From Elysian, you’ll be able to sample the PK 47 Pumpkin Malt Liquor and from Cambridge, sip the Dark o’ the Moon Pumpkin Stout or The Great Pumpkin Ale.
There will be a special tapping at 2 pm that is NOT to miss, a ginormous pumpkin will be fIlled with pumpkin ale. Also, do note, the day’s eats will be pumpkin- and squash-inspired.
