THE ACTIVITY:
The 7th Annual West Chester Film Festival
THE RESTAURANT:
102 W. Market St.
West Chester
THE DATE:
ADAM: Our activity was to watch a few films at the WC Film Festival. It was something I had never done, so I was excited to see what it was all about. It was a great time, although when we first arrived we were treated like VIPs, with our tickets reserved and people taking pictures. It was a little intense since we had only just met 5 minutes before.
ARIANNA: I was more than okay with the the date’s plan – I’ve wanted to go to the film festival for a while, and Mas turned out to be great.
FIRST IMPRESSIONS:
ADAM: She was wearing a very cute black outfit and had her sunglasses on when I first saw her; she looked very pretty. She definitely seemed like my type when I first saw her.
ARIANNA: Adam was dressed nicely, and my first impression was that he was a gentleman – he gave me a flower, which was very sweet.
THE CONVERSATION:
ADAM: We had to talk on the way into the film festival and then walking to dinner since we couldn’t talk during the movies. It started out pretty basic, family, interests, things like that.
ARIANNA: The conversation was great, there was never any awkward silence.
THE FILM FESTIVAL:
ADAM: Neither of us have been to the festival prior to this visit, but it was a great experience. There was some really great short films and it was pretty cool to watch them on a big screen right in town.
ARIANNA: Since I had never been to the film festival before, so I didn’t know what to expect. It turned out to be a lot of fun. I really enjoyed the films, and I would definitely go again next year.
THE RESTAURANT:
ADAM: I have been to Mas, but never just for dinner. The atmosphere is very vibrant and upbeat, a little loud for a first date when you are trying to talk with someone, but also exciting and different from most restaurants. There seems to be a lot of action going on, between the multiple bars, music and restaurant section, so it seems to have something for just about anyone.
ARIANNA: I’d been to Mas before, but Mary told me that it was now under new ownership. It was much better this time than when I went last. The atmosphere was really fun, there were tons of people there laughing and having a good time. The menu was great, there’s a lot to choose from.
THE SERVICE:
ADAM: The service was amazing. The waiter was extremely knowledgeable on the entire menu and helped us to narrow down some entree selections. Also, one of the managers stopped by the table on several occasions and discussed a few of her favorites from the menu. Both were very helpful and made the whole dinner a very enjoyable experience.
ARIANNA: The service was excellent, we couldn’t have asked for a better waiter. He was very helpful in explaining the menu and helping us to decide, and he was very polite and attentive.
DRINKS:
ADAM: Yep, you can’t go to Mas and not have a little tequila. Arianna had the Mas Margarita and I got a Tequila sunrise, both were great and very well made.
THE FOOD:
ADAM: They started us with a few of the appetizers, and then they went through everything else on the menu to help us decide on main courses. It took a while to order since we were getting to know each other and talking a lot. I got the complete fajita with chicken, shrimp and steak—it was delicious.
ARIANNA: We ordered the Flaming Queso Fundido, and the Bad Boy Nachos as appetizers. For my entree, I had the Corona Fish Tacos. Everything was really good, I would definitely order it all again.
CONVERSATION AND CHEMISTRY:
ADAM: The conversation flowed pretty well through the whole night and we discussed a lot of topics from movies and TV shows to music and hobbies.
ARIANNA: The conversation was really good, we learned that we have a lot in common. There was a good connection.
DID YOU EXCHANGE NUMBERS?
ADAM: Yep, I almost forgot to get her number at the end of the night, but I remembered right before we said goodbye to each other.
WAS IT A MATCH?
ADAM: I think it was a match. We had a lot in common, including some weird/funny stuff. I was a little nervous, but we seemed to get comfortable with each other as the date went on. She is definitely someone I would like hangout with more and I feel lucky to have gotten the opportunity to meet.
ARIANNA: I think it was a good match, we got along well.
WAS THERE A KISS?
ADAM: No kiss that night, but a couple of hugs when we got into our cars.
WILL THERE BE A SECOND DATE?
ADAM: I really hope so, we talked about going out again during the date.
ARIANNA: We’ll see!
HOW DID YOU LEAVE IT?
ADAM: We talked about going out again and we have each others numbers so we’ll see.
ARIANNA: The night ended on a good note. The film festival and the restaurant were great, and the date was a lot of fun. We exchanged numbers and said we’ll get in touch. Overall, it was a great night.
