Johnsontown Community Group is hosting this year’s National Night Out, known as “America’s night out against crime,” tonight, August 2 from 6 to 8pm at Johnsontown Park.
As part of the nationwide-organized National Night Out, the local output has arranged for all area citizens to meet members of the Downingtown Police and Fire companies, many elected officials, and most importantly, their nearby neighbors. National Night Out is established to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness; generate support for, and participation in, local anticrime programs; strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships; and send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
Come join the fun with face-painting, games, prizes and music, as well as free food from Chick-fil-a, Foster Boys, Blue Cafe and more! Some of our favorite farmers’ market vendors will also partake in the festivities, too, including Mompops and KT Cakehouse! Also, this event will introduce for the first time, the Born Learning Trail!
As part of the evening’s outdoor affair, there will be a bunch of raffles taking place, including gift baskets from LA Fitness and Rustic Greetings/Visual Perceptions.
