“This year is twice as big as last year,” Jillian Fragale of the Downingtown/Thorndale Regional Chamber of Commerce explained about plans.“Last year there were forty-two vendors, but this year we’ll have ninety-two.”
In order to accommodate the growing festival, the organizers have expanded the festival’s footprint. “The space is extended from Green Street all the way down to Route 322,” Jillian explained. She noted there are fifteen parking lots within walking distance of the FallFest. Click here for a map.
This year, the Downingtown School of Rock will be jamming out. The day will also include musical performances by Emberway and Tim McGlone. In addition, WCHE Radio will be broadcasting live from 1 to 3pm and PA Eats will offer up the red carpet treatment right on East Lancaster Avenue, fully equipped with professional photographers.
At 1pm and again at 3pm, the Free Cycle Action Sports Team will be performing their Big Air Show.
Of course, FallFest will feature excellent eats from local restaurants. “Some of the restaurants participating this year include The Blue Cafe, Station Taproom, Foster Boys, Doghouse Gourmet Burgers, Georgio’s Pizza and Deli, Amani’s BYOB, Doc Magrogans and P.J. Whelihan’s. There’s many more too.” Jillian said.
One of the most popular features is the Victory Beer Garden, featuring highlighted beers from Downingtown’s Victory Brewing. “The beer garden is larger this year,” Jillian said, to accommodate the crowds. Scheduled to be on tap for the event are the following beers: Festbier, Prima Pils and Zeltbier.
The Brewpub on Wheels will be located next to the Minquas Fire Department. There is no cost to enter the beer garden and beer will be sold for $5 a 16 oz. serving. All beer must be consumed in the beer garden. Cash only.
Sponsors include: Downingtown Dish, Southdown Homes, First Niagara, Kimberton Whole Foods, Roberts Automall, Downingtown Skatepark Organization and The Downingtown Area Chamber of Commerce.
The Victory Fallfest is free to attend. Pay as you go. FallFest will be held rain or shine on October 2nd, from noon to 4pm. More information at downingtownfallfest.com.
