The Fourth of July is definitely a day to get excited about but Friday, July 6 in Kennett Square might steal the show this week. There are a variety of fun filled events unfolding, including the usual First Friday happenings and a cycling experience unlike any other.
If you’re looking for a relaxing and thoughtful way to spend the end of your week, consider the First Friday Art Stroll in downtown Kennett Square. As usual, galleries, shops, and restaurants will stay open late, with special art exhibits, live music, sales events, and light refreshments offered around town.
Also on July 6, Kennett Square will be host to the final criteriums of the Chesco Grand Prix, a high-quality series of cycling races with professionals, mens and womens amateurs, and even some local celebrity and children’s events. The course will run through the center of town between 5 pm and 9 pm.
Breaking slightly from the traditional schedule, the Kennett Farmers Market will be held from 1 to 3 pm on July 6th, to accommodate for the set-up of the Chesco Grand Prix. You will, however, find the bountiful market in the usual location, held in the Brick Walkway and along East State Street. Some of the vendors will stay for the duration of the race.
