BBQ Joint Rubb Finds Home in Manayunk

Was it real or just a figment of your imagination? Could that delicious barbecue joint be a dream? Although it seemed like a mirage, popping up in the Philly food scene then quickly vanishing again, the Manayunk barbecue joint, Rubb, is finally here to stay. Although it has been in the planning stages for about three years now, this rebel of a barbecue joint will now call 4311 Main St. its home.

The location, which used to house Bucks County Coffee and Meze Cafe, is only a block south from a spot that was considered earlier in the planning process. Rubb is slated to open in late July as a BYOB according to co-owner Richie Rivera. Old time fans and newbies are welcome to visit for a delicious taste of the “punk rock” bbq, plus Rubb will continue to exist as a mobile smoker, perfect for a grab and go meal or any kind of special event.
