Brandywine Valley Wine Trail Toasts to the Summer Season with Annual Big Bang BBQ

That big bang you’ll be hearing this weekend isn’t going to be just the fireworks, it’s Brandywine Valley’s Wine Trail. Starting tomorrow, Saturday June 30, and lasting all weekend the wineries you know and love will join together in hosting a Big Bang BBQ. Special events are going to unfold at each location, from pig pickin’ to chicken lickin’, so your friends and family can enjoy a rousing Fourth of July Weekend away from the shore crowds.

The fun BBQ & Wine outing includes seven family-owned and operated regional wineries of the Brandywine Valley Wine Trail. Each spot will be offering a variety of wines, food, picnicking, and music to celebrate Independence Weekend. No Passports or Tickets required to attend. All you have to do is show up for wine, food, and fun!

Black Walnut Winery

Come on out for wine, fabulous barbecue and live music on Black Walnut’s outdoor patio! Guests will be invited to play horseshoes and bocce on the lawn and enjoy wine tasting at $6/person for 7 wine samples. Wines will be available for purchase by the glass and by the bottle. No other alcohol allowed on site. Amazing BBQ meats & sides available for purchase from Jimmy’s BBQ.

Saturday, June 30 – Late April acoustic duo, 1 – 5pm

Bring your own wine glass for this free outdoor concert or purchase one of theirs.

Borderland Vineyard

Pig Roast – Saturday, June 30, 12 to 6 pm

Everyone’s invited to party ’til the Kalbs come home! Join the Kalb family owners rain or shine for a celebration of Jan Kalb’s 90th birthday and Borderland Vineyard’s first wines. This event will be an extended family reunion, a neighborhood party, and Borderland Vineyard’s first official Brandywine Valley Wine Trail event.  Throughout the afternoon, there will be live music, vineyard tours and plenty of food served with Borderland Vineyard wine and other beverages.  RSVP NECESSARY – If you’d like to attend, please e-mail [email protected] for details. Wine Tasting & Vineyard Tours – Sunday, July 1, 12 to 5 pm

Prefer a laid-back day in the country?  Head toward Borderland Vineyard on Sunday to taste their newest wines and tour the vineyard.  Bring a musical instrument and take advantage of our open mic.

Chaddsford Winery

Their new outdoor wine bar will be serving your favorite wines by the glass including Sangria Slusies, Spritzers and the drink of the month.  The performers patio will serve as a dedicated space on the patio where some great musicians will set up and play live contemporary music while you hang out with friends or a special someone. Bring your own picnic or purchase delicious picnic foods from John Connell Catering such as beef brisket sandwiches or crispy skinned chicken breast, jumbo shrimp and mango skewers, grilled vegetable salad, and bourbon sticky bun bread pudding.  Wine tasting available in the cellar for $10.  No admittance fee and no reservations required.  Musicians from 2  to 6 pm.

Kreutz Creek Vineyard

Celebrate the Red, White and Blue with Kreutz Creek Vineyard.  They’ll have Jazz, pulled pork sandwiches, and fun. Pulled pork sandwiches, mac & cheese and good old fashion baked beans will be available for purchase. Jazz music is going to be featured from 2 to 5 pm and wine slushies will be blended all day long.  It will be a grand 4th of July celebration!  No cover charge.

Paradocx Vineyard

The unique wine producer invites you to join them this pre-Fourth of July weekend to celebrate Independence Day. There will be plenty of wine, food and fun at their location for everyone to enjoy.

Penns Woods Winery

Join the whole gang June 30 and July 1 for an Independence Day Celebration that you won’t forget!  Guests can enjoy wine specials like wine by the glass for $5 and a $1 off your first glass of wine when you wear RED, WHITE and BLUE! There will be games like washers, corn hole, bocce ball, bean bag toss, hula hoops, footballs available for kids and adults!

Family and friends are all welcome to celebrate Independece Day Weekend at the Vineyard!

Twin Brook Winery

For a rockin’ independence celebration make sure you get over to Twin Brook Winery. They will be celebrate Fourth of July a little bit early with a special Sangria to sample. Guests can relax with great music and a chilled bottle of Twin Brook wine. They’ll be serving BBQ noon to 5pm, but feel free to bring your own picnic.
