Cafette Debuts New 3-Course Vegetarian Menus

Nothing will get you in the mood for chilling temperatures like the flavors of autumn. However, there’s much more to hearty meals than carnivorous crock pots and meaty roasts.

Beginning Wednesday, November 14th through Sunday, December 9th, Chef Bela Durst of Cafette (8136 Ardleigh Street) will offer his 3 course vegetarian menu. Keeping in line with their 20th anniversary celebration, the menus will be just $20 per person (plus tax and gratuity). Chef Durst has created four weekly meatless meals using the bountiful specialties of autumn so pop in for his delicious, out of the beefy box offerings. Reservations are encouraged and can be made by calling 215-242-4220.

Cafette’s Autumn Vegetarian Menus

Week One: November 14 – 18

Beet Carpaccio

Roasted beets, green bean walnut and bleu cheese salad, tossed in a walnut oil vinaigrette

Spinach Risotto Stuffed Portobello Mushroom Cap

Assorted mushroom ragout, finished with fresh grated reggiano cheese

Honey Apple Crisp

Granny smith apples, orange blossom honey, oat and almond crumble, chantilly cream

Week Two: November 21 – 25

Dahl

Indian spiced lentil soup, topped with a spoon or mint raita

Sweet Potato and Chick Pea Stew

Squash and peppers seasoned with aromatic middle east spices, topped with saffron and almond couscous

Banana Chocolate Chip Cake 

Orange caramel sauce

Week Three: November 28 – December 2

Butternut Squash Soup

drizzled with sour cream

Pecan Crusted Seared Tofu

Chard and mushroom ragout, wild & brown rice pilaf

Pumpkin Bread Pudding

Maple whipped cream

Week Four: December 5 – 9

Roasted Pear Salad

Gorgonzola, spinach, radicchio, frisée, pecans and cider vinaigrette

Vegan Baked Ziti

 Whole wheat penne tossed and baked with silken tofu, exotic mushrooms, spinach and marinara

Caramel Apple Mountain

Seasonal apples roasted with coconut oil, raisins, orange zest. brown sugar and spices, topped with toasted almonds

Cafette’s NEW fall/winter hours lend them to be open Wednesday through Sunday and closed Monday and Tuesday, Cafette will return back to their spring hours beginning in April.
