The Goshen Country Fair is slated to begin July 30 and continue its fun filled days until August 4. The one and only Goshen Fair Donuts are scheduled to appear again this year, serving up those renowned donuts that are loved by all. Although their donuts are available year round, there is something about the ambience of the fair that makes the holy treats extra special. They’ve been around a while, helping many satisfy their donut fix, and now they need help from you!
First, Goshen Fair Donuts is holding a logo contest to find the best new logo for their edible creations. First prize is 10 dozen donuts and a t-shirt with your design on it. The rules are simple; it has to have the words “Goshen Fair Donuts” on it, and be just one color so they can print it on t-shirts. Beyond that, contestants are encouraged to let their imaginations run wild! Keep in mind that simple designs work best on custom-made shirts, so those submissions are favored. E-mail your logo to [email protected] by July 11th. You’ll be excited to hear that multiple submissions are allowed but don’t get too carried away!
Goshen Fair Donuts is also asking for assistance in the social media world. They are now on Twitter and can be followed at @GoshenFairDonut or use the hashtag #GoshenFairDonuts to talk about their tasty offerings on Twitter. Spread the word and tweet your thoughts about the donuts to get the fundraising organization a hefty following. This year at the Goshen Fair, they will have prizes each night for people who tweet using their hashtag. Don’t forget to like them on Facebook as well.
Lastly, Goshen Fair Donuts is in need of workers in more way than one. They are looking to schedule volunteers, anytime between noon and 1 am. Time slots for which they are especially in need are between noon to 5 p.m. and after 10 p.m., so if you’re interested in lending a hand at this year’s fair, don’t hesitate to contact them via email. Goshen Donuts is a fundraiser for the Goshen Fire Company, and all proceeds go towards protecting your community.
Goshen Donuts is also currently looking for an apprentice; someone interested in learning/living the life of a Goshen Donut Maker and would be willing to manage the donut stand for 2013. The current manager plans on teaching the right candidate at the 2012 Fair so they can apply the lessons learned when next year rolls around. The donut stand makes up a significant portion of the money brought in by the fair every year, so they need someone who is willing to be in charge. If you are interested, send an e-mail to [email protected].
The Goshen Donuts’ crew is looking forward to seeing everyone this year. As a reminder, they will start making donuts at Noon each day of the fair, July 30th to August 4th.
