Halloween is approaching and everyone’s costume dilemma has arrived. However, for Iron Hill‘s Gathering of the Gourds on October 27th, there is no dilemma. Dress up and you score free beer from the pumpkin “firkin.”
That’s right, on Saturday, October 27th at 12 noon, guest brewers and their finest pumpkin beers will converge at the back bar in West Chester for the annual The Gathering of the Gourds. During this pay-as-you-go event, guests can order 12 different pumpkin beers and pumpkin beer samplers. At 3 p.m., a giant pumpkin filled with beer will be tapped. Costumes are strongly encouraged and guests in costume will earn free beer from the pumpkin “firkin.”

Can’t wait until the October 27th celebration to enjoy pumpkin beer with Iron Hill? You’re in luck. As of October 1st, the local brewery released their Great Imperial Pumpkin Ale at all locations. It will be sold in cork-finished 750 ml bottles for $19.50. Like many of Iron Hill’s Bottled Reserves, The Great Imperial Pumpkin Ale features a custom-designed label from local artist Jeff Schaller, this time inspired by the beloved comic strip Peanuts.
