If it’s a modern day speakeasy you’ve been looking for, you can find it this Thursday, August 2nd, at Muse Restaurant in Oxford as they host Prohibition Night. This special menu was created to celebrate prohibition and all the beautiful ways it shaped today’s drinking culture. Everything from the restaurant’s already unique interior to their menu, and maybe even a few employee outfits will scream 1920’s.
Black Walnut Winery, Philadelphia Distilling (i.e. the proud distillers of Bluecoat Gin, Penn 1681 Vodka, Vieux Carre Absinthe and XXX Shine White Whiskey) and yours truly, PA Eats, will be joining in on the prohibition fun starting at 6:30 p.m., and carrying on until the last bathtub gin runs dry (but technically it ends at 9pm).
There are only a few spots left for a chance to sample the special Prohibition Themed Menu (found below) for just $60, which includes drinks, so be sure to get all dolled up in your glad rags and visit Muse Restaurant on the one night it transforms into a juice joint.
Guests are invited to bring their own giggle water as well and strike a celebrity pose on the red carpet complete with professional photographer from PA Eats.

{Dinner Menu}
1st course – cream of celery with goat cheese and walnut toasties
2nd course – waldorf salad – grapes, apples, walnuts, greens, house mayo
3rd course – pan seared rockfish, citrus vinaigrette, fried asparagus with hollandaise, thin potato crisps
4th course – chicken fricassee, onions, celery, tomato, thyme, fried cauliflower, beer bread.
5th course – seafood newburg, lobster, crab, mussels, clam, rice croquettes.
6th course – caramel custard (1st) then rice pudding (2nd)
{Cocktails}
Vesper: gin, vodka, lillet blanc, stirred over ice. Lemon peel garnish
French American 75: gin, lemon, lavender simple syrup, champagne
Side Car: moonshine, lemon juice, orange liquor
Absinthe: served traditionally with sugar and spring water
