Local Kids to Perform “The Wizard of Oz” at the Colonial Theatre, July 27-28

If you’ve never seen your favorite classic movie, The Wizard of Oz, as a musical before, then today’s your lucky day! The Firebird Theatre is proud to present its live Broadway musical series on July 27th and 28th at Phoenixville’s Colonial Theatre! This production is cast with enthusiastic local teens and kids, who will be wowing the audience with their singing and dancing!  Dorothy, the Tin Man, the Scarecrow, Munchkins and all the beloved characters will be there. Now they just need you to bring the little ones, sit back, relax and enjoy!

This will be a great opportunity to get out with the kids and experience something new and exciting but viewers of all ages will definitely enjoy the live musical production, right in the heart of downtown Phoenixville. You can purchase tickets to the Saturday double features or Friday’s show at the Colonial Theatre’s website.  The Saturday ticket will admit you to both shows!

While the Wizard of Oz is known by all, you may be wondering what the other production is all about? “The Trouble in Oz” is a short one-act comedy sequel to the original Oz story, also featuring many of the same characters as the Wizard of OZ. It’s a lot of fun and certainly worth checking out!

The Friday, July 27th show of “The Wizard of OZ” is at 7 p.m., while the Saturday matinee is at 11:30 a.m., for Trouble and 1 p.m. for Wizard.  Saturday evening performances are 5:30 p.m. for Trouble and 7 p.m. for Wizard. Tickets range from $8-13 and can be purchased HERE.
