This trail race has it all. It doesn’t matter if you’re just getting started or if you hit the trails every day. Sponsored by the Malvern Veterinary Hospital, the Marsh Creek Raptor race is a fun, fairly rugged course with technical challenges that push beginners to their limits and keep experts on their toes as well.
This trail run includes forests, rolling hills, grassy meadows, and messy mud holes. Maybe it doesn’t sound like your typical Sunday but who needs typical? Shake things up a bit and head to Marsh Creek State Park in Downingtown on July 29th. Although there are two distance options, the race begins at 9 a.m., and all the runners start at the same time. When you’re finished with the 5 mile loop, if you want to keep going, do it again for the full 10 miles. If you’re tired and ready to relax, stop once you hit the 5 mile mark.
We’re not going to say “it’s that easy” but there is the added benefit of not having to finish all 10 miles – even if you originally thought you would. Runners are encouraged to stay at their own pace and have fun with it! If you’re interested, be sure to register by Wednesday, July 25 before midnight. On-line registration is available at www.pretzelcitysports.com.
