Join Tinto on Thursday, April 4, beginning at 7 p.m. for a Basque Cider Pairing Dinner!
Did you know some of the most famous wine regions also have a strong tradition in making cider? The Basque region produces some of the greatest and most unusual ciders in the world. Tinto invites you to partake in the annual Txotx, the celebratory tapping of the cider barrels in the Asturias and the Basque regions, at their cozy space located in Philadelphia’s Rittenhouse Square neighborhood.
Ciders will include Isastegi Sagardo Naturala (Tolosa, Spain, 2010), a rustic cider with a crisp, fresh finish; Castanon “Sidra Natural” (Asturias, Spain, 2010), a pure expression of classic Asturian Sidra; and Bordatto Extaldea “Txala Parta” (Irouleguy, France, 2009), a complex cider aged for six months in wood. Four courses of seasonal Basque cuisine created by Chef Dave Conn will be paired with the ciders. (See the full menu below.)
Reservations are required for this very special event; call 215-665-9150 to save your place. Space is limited to 20 participants.
Tinto is located at 114 South 20th Street in Philadelphia.
