Counter Culture Coffee in Philadelphia Hosts Composting Workshop, April 19

Curious about composting, “worm tea” and improving the health of your soil? You’ll definitely want to check out the “Of Soil and Worm Tea: A Composting and Coffee Workshop” at Counter Culture Coffee‘s Philadelphia Training Center! The workshop will be held on Friday, April 19, starting at noon.

During the interactive workshop, students will have the opportunity to discuss the importance of healthy soil with Nicolas Esposito from Emerald Street Urban Farm, participate in a worm tea (a fertilizing liquid made from worm castings and water) preparation demo and take home worm tea samples for their garden and plants.

The workshop is part of Counter Culture’s “Save Our Soil” campaign, which aims to raise awareness about the widespread degradation of soil health brought about by conventional, chemical-based agriculture and to shed light on the importance of organic agriculture as the way forward.
