Drafting Room Debuts Artisan Cheese Plates

It was just late last year that the Drafting Room decided to introduce a cheese and charcuterie menu that was crafted to be “unique” to them. The fresh extension to the established menu felt like a natural progression for the beer-centric eatery, as their focus has been—for many years—to offer a food menu that accompanied and complemented their fine lineup of craft beer.

For starters, the cheese menu—like the charcuterie menu—was developed with an artisan angle. On a weekly basis, the culinary team works with top-shelf purveyors and distributors to source a diverse variety of local and non-local creamy hunks. From correspondence with Murray’s in New York to Di Bruno Bros. in Philadelphia, it’s a fact that their day-to-day assortment is constantly fierce and packed with surprises.

Neighborhood wunderkinds, Yellow Springs Farm, has their black walnut-infused Nutcracker Goat Cheese crowning the top of the current roundup, featured aside 5 Spoke Creamery‘s (also of Pennsylvania) Raw Milk Farmhouse Cheddar. Other culinary gems rating high in our cheese-loving books include Nettle Meadow‘s triple cream Brie, Cato Corner‘s Hooligan, a wash rinded raw cow’s milk cheese with tangy buttermilk; and Blue Ledge Farm‘s zippy Middlebury Blue. You can explore Drafting Room’s current selection in full below, and we suggest you already start dreaming up your ultimate cheese plate.

Cheese Menu, Drafting Room

With a mission to get “the quality you want,” Drafting Room’s charcuterie menu is up-to-par with its cheese repertoire. Vocal in suggesting that they are “lucky to be working with smaller meat houses,” they’re giddy over serving up a petite, cured meat roster that works as a first-rate accessory to their cheese menu. From Duck Prosciutto from New York and Salame Calabrese from Virginia, to imported Chorizo from Spain and Speck from Italy, the suburbs latest meat-and-cheese symphony is just waiting for you to belly up and devour it—piece by piece.

Cheeses are available at $5 each, or build a plate with any three cheeses plus one meat for only $17. The charcuterie options weigh in as a four-deep lineup, and are available at $3.50 each, or all four for $12. Now, through February 3rd, if you buy two cheeses, you will receive the third for free. More information on the Drafting Room and the cheese offerings are available at draftingroom.com.
