Eataly Founder to Bring Theme Park for Food Lovers to Bologna

Italy has long been a premier destination for food and wine savvy travelers. Now, the city of Bologna will one-up the foodie destination travel game by partnering with Eataly, the Italian food-emporium chain. Together, they will open Fico Eataly World—a food and wine-centric theme park.

According to The Wall Street Journal, the joint venture will encompass approximately “80,000-square-meters (almost 20-acres) and will house restaurants, grocery stores, food labs and an aquarium, among other features.” This will allow both residents and tourists a way to sample the food and drink of the Italian region, all under one roof.

Eataly currently has 26 locations world-wide in Italy, Japan, Dubai and Turkey, New York and Chicago.

Fico Eataly World is scheduled to open in November of 2015.
