With the hustle and bustle of the holidays quickly upon us, we found the perfect way to snatch up all the gifts for everyone on our lists this year, while supporting local businesses in Ardmore and also saving a bundle! With generous support from One Ardmore Place, the Ardmore Initiative is introducing “Downtown Dollars,” a local currency program offering holiday shoppers a 50% discount on purchases made only in Downtown Ardmore.
The Ardmore Initiative will release $15,000 worth of Downtown Dollars on Monday, December 4, 2017. Shoppers must enter an online lottery. Lottery winners, who will be randomly selected, are able to purchase Downtown Dollars. This is done through the purchase of a gift card valued between $25 and $100—then, winners will receive an additional Downtown Dollars gift card for the same amount. The customer doubles their spending power at no cost to the merchants. Downtown Dollars are only redeemable at participating Ardmore businesses.
“This program serves as a thank-you to our business owners, residents and visitors who have stuck with us through construction, utility work and changing traffic patterns,” said Christine Vilardo, executive director of the Ardmore Initiative. “This is one way to express our appreciation to our loyal customers, as well as help the small business owners.”
Downtown Dollars Program Details
Interested shoppers must enter an online lottery to be randomly selected to purchase Downtown Dollars. The Downtown Dollars lottery is currently open and will close Sunday, December 3, 2017, at 11:59 p.m. Find the lottery entry form via Destination Ardmore’s website.
Lottery winners will be notified by email on Monday, December 4, 2017. Then, Downtown Dollars will be available for purchase during the following week at the Ardmore Initiative office located at 56 E. Lancaster Avenue in Ardmore. Lottery winners will be notified of extended office hours for this promotion.
Downtown Dollars lottery winners will have the opportunity to purchase a gift card from $25-$100 USD and will receive an additional Downtown Dollars gift card for the same amount. Downtown Dollars must be spent at participating restaurants and businesses in Downtown Ardmore. Downtown Dollars gift cards will expire 90 days from activation.
“This is a great opportunity for shoppers to double their buying power in Downtown Ardmore during this holiday season,” Vilardo added. “Downtown Dollars also make great holiday gifts for family, friends and co-workers!”
