“This event began as a music concert for local bands and to celebrate Earth Day and it became a way to support our local Anson B. Nixon Park and The Garage Community and Youth Center. This year we have a lot of local talent from Kennett Square and Wilmington, and this event showcases some of our hometown music,” states event organizer Kris Smith.
This is also a kid-friendly event; the cost per child is a requested $5–$10 donation, with the funds going directly to benefit the children’s garden project at Anson B. Nixon Park. All other donations and ticket donations received for adult admission to go to benefit Anson B. Nixon Park community garden and children’s garden projects, which is operated by the Kennett Area Park Authority (KAPA).
