Coming Soon to Phoenixville: Bacon Me Crazy

Just in time for your New Year’s resolution to eat more bacon: Bacon Me Crazy, a new pork-tastic café, is coming to downtown Phoenixville in late 2017/early 2018!

Bacon Me Crazy

Fans of The Bacon Press, a restaurant in Frazer that closed in 2015, will recognize owner Wes Reeser, who’s back at it again with even more bacon-y goodness. Reeser, who lives in the borough of Phoenixville, says that ever since The Bacon Press closed, he’s wanted to bring it back, and this time he wanted to be a part of his own community.

“This town is booming in many ways … Phoenixville is a hip town with a lot of cool things going on, but there’s nothing like what we do [here],” he says. He hopes that, like The Bacon Press was, Bacon Me Crazy will become a a destination spot for food enthusiasts in the region.

Located at 119 Main Street, Bacon Me Crazy will be a breakfast and lunch café with a full dining room, where table service will be offered from 7 a.m.–3 p.m., 7 days a week. The Bacon Me Crazy lounge will be where guests can relax with a treat and coffee and enjoy the Wi-Fi, TV and the ample supply of USB ports installed in the walls. The space will also include a small market, offering all of Bacon Me Crazy’s bacon by the pound, cinnamon rolls (2014 Best of Main Line winners) and other made-fresh daily market goods, such as bacon brownies and bacon muffins. The lounge will be open daily from
7 a.m.–6 p.m. and the market will hold hours from 9 a.m.–6 p.m.

As the name suggests, the focus of the menu is bacon, course!

“We do all of our own artisan bacon from scratch, farm to table,” Reeser says. “All of our pork is from area farms through the program Nature’s Promise, which is meat from pigs that are ethically raised on family farms, with no antibiotics ever.”

Menu highlights include fan favorites from the days of The Bacon Press, and, Reeser makes a point to say, anything can be modified:

  • The Flying Saucer: Shredded potatoes sautéed with cheddar caramelized on both sides, topped with three strips of thick-cut bacon and a sunny-side-up egg
  • Jalapeno bacon mac and cheese: Four-cheese-blend mac and cheese with thick-cut bacon and fresh jalapenos
  • Candied bacon
  • Pancake-battered bacon

There will also be a minimum of six different bacons each day, in addition to the thick-cut applewood house bacon; the varieties will change up frequently, but may include flavors such as cinnamon chipotle, beer-infused and mesquite bacon.

For those who can’t (or choose not to) eat meat, Bacon Me Crazy will also offer daily vegan specials. Details on what these will be are fuzzy, but Reeser maintains, “My chef is awesome … it could be a taco, soup, who knows? We just know it’s important to have that option!”

The build-out of Bacon Me Crazy is complete (there’s even furniture set up) and Reeser hopes to open later this month or perhaps in early 2018.

Bacon Me Crazy’s slogan is: “’That’s too much bacon’ … said no one ever.” Soon enough, you’ll be able to decide if you agree!

Bacon Me Crazy will be located at 119 Main St. in Phoenixville.
