Anniversaries, sipping for charity and community collaborations dot the beer-centric landscape over the next month. Get your summer on in a big and tasty way with this six-pack of must-attend events:
Pour House IPA from Victory Brewing Co.
Happy anniversary to The Pour House in Exton! The popular local haunt just celebrated five years in style with a new brew — Pour House IPA, created exclusively for the restaurant by Victory Brewing Company. “Victory understands our clientele’s appreciation for great, local beer,” said Jim Fris, chief operating officer of P.J.W. Restaurant Group, which owns The Pour House. This is the fifth collaboration between the two, starting with P.J.W. Copper Lager in 2007. Pour House IPA is a 6.7% ABV cloudy IPA packed with Motueka, Mosaic, Lemondrop and Citra hops, rendering it smooth and dry with citrus and piney notes. That makes for a very happy anniversary, indeed. 116 Pottstown Pike, Exton; (610) 280-7900

Sly Fox Brewing Company is also upping the community support game with its summery, light and refreshing Alex’s Lemon Wheat Ale. The citrus-infused Hefeweizen is brewed with natural lemon oil and lemon zest instead of an extract. “It was our goal to produce the most natural and authentically delicious ale for the Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation partnership,” explained Sly Fox brewmaster Brian O’Reilly. A portion of the proceeds from sales of pints at the brewery and six packs will go to Alex’s Lemonade Stand to fund childhood cancer research — a great reason to drink up! 331 Circle of Progress Dr., Pottstown; (484) 524-8210; 520 Kimberton Road (Rt.113), Phoenixville; (610) 935-4540

Soon everything will be red, white and blue to celebrate America’s birth — and Pynk. Yards Brewing Company’s seasonal tart ale is created when 3,300 pounds of sour-and-sweet cherries and raspberries are added to each batch. As always, a portion of the proceeds goes to the Tyanna Foundation to help increase awareness and improve the lives of breast cancer patients. Pynk is due back to the Yard’s lineup in July. Or, so it seems, based on a not-so-subtle hint found on Instagram (see above). 500 Spring Garden St., Philadelphia; (215) 525-0175
