A few weeks ago, we announced that an outpost of Fractured Prune Doughnuts, a franchised chain of made-to-order gourmet doughnut shops, is opening soon in West Chester. We just got some exciting news that another Fractured Prune location is opening in Audubon, Pa. in May!
As in other locations of this popular doughnut shop, guests can choose to customize their freshly made doughnuts with 19 flavors of glaze and 13 toppings — the combinations are practically endless! If you just can’t decide, there’s also the option to try one of Fractured Prune’s “preconfigured” combinations. We like the looks of the Black Forest (raspberry glaze, mini chocolate chips and powdered sugar), but Steve Kotch, the owner of the Audubon location says the most popular flavor is the OC Sand, a combination of honey glaze and cinnamon sugar topping that pays homage to Ocean City, New Jersey, where the original Fractured Prune was founded in 1976. The Bacon Bomb is reportedly another popular combo, with maple glaze and bacon pieces. Bacon and doughnuts — why not?

While there will not be vegan or gluten-free options, the Audubon Fractured Prune will be a designated peanut-free store. Stay tuned to PA Eats for updates on when this Fractured Prune location will open!
