In our column, “Order Up,” we find the tastiest things to eat and drink in Greater Philadelphia and Central Pennsylvania, and we pass the deliciousness on to you!
This week is going to be Eagles-mania in Pennsylvania and we can’t wait! We love when all of our friends and neighbors can band together and rally around a common goal. Over the next few days, bars and restaurants will be rolling out epic Eagles-themed specials. But, one in particular stands out to us already, as it gives back to a great cause while also celebrating our great team.
Fuel, Philly’s everything-under-500-calories clean-eating cafe, has partnered with Philadelphia Eagles’ Offensive Tackle Lane Johnson to create an exclusive smoothie to benefit Children’s Hospital of Pennsylvania (CHOP).
Between now and Super Bowl Sunday (Feb. 4), Fuel locations in Center City, University City and East Passyunk will offer Johnson’s “Green Machine” smoothie, a blend of kale, spinach, pineapple, honey and banana. Two dollars from every Green Machine smoothie purchased will go directly to CHOP.
“This smoothie is special to me because it contains all of my favorite flavors and ingredients, and it’s Eagles’ green,” said Johnson. “I always want to help the local brands and companies succeed since they get overshadowed by the national corporate ones. It also helps that Fuel is on my weekly (and sometimes daily) schedule! This partnership lets me give back to one of my favorite local charities, CHOP. I have always loved kids and wanted to help out for those less fortunate, ill, or in need.”
Fuel wants to give back to Philadelphians, too: If (When) the Eagles win, Fuel will offer Eagles fans a free small Green Machine smoothie on Monday, February 5, 2018, from 11 a.m.–1 p.m., no purchase required. (Go, Eagles!)
“By partnering with Lane Johnson and supporting a local charity, everyone scores with these new smoothies! Let’s rally together, help CHOP and show the country how high the Eagles can fly,” said Fuel’s owner, Rocco Cima.
Go support your local team while giving to an amazing cause, and enjoy a healthy kick to boot!
